About the Event
Presenter: Amy Zoe Schonhoff, founder of Mindfulness in the Heartland
Over forty years of empirical research suggests developing the skills of mindfulness can help reduce stress, emotional reactivity and anxiety, and improve working memory, resiliency, relationship satisfaction, empathy and compassion.
After an unprecedented year of adapting your life and professional practice to meet the challenges of a global pandemic, please join the Kansas City Pediatric Alliance for a half-day conference that will offer you the opportunity to experientially investigate some of the practices and principles of mindfulness. Part retreat, part educational exploration, this conference will explore awareness-building practices that provide tools to enhance your personal well-being and professional engagements with the children and families you serve. Our time together will include didactic presentations, mindfulness-based meditation, mindful movement, and a mindful eating practice.
Because this extends over the lunch hour, please have your lunch ready because Amy will also go over mindful eating practices while you are eating.Â
